Angela Liggat

After working in HR within the charity sector for over 15 years, I took time out to be a carer for my mother but also used this time to think carefully about my next career move. Whilst having really enjoyed my time in Social Care I seized the opportunity to transfer my skills and knowledge to a new sector, manufacturing was my first choice.

The role at Halls of Scotland had caught my eye, so I carried out some research on both the role and the Company to see if it matched what I was looking for. I liked what I saw – it was clearly a well-established organisation with a proud history and clear career progression opportunities. This was what I had been looking for and I was delighted when I was given the opportunity to realise this challenge! Since I joined the Brown Brothers Food Group in July 2021, I have also been given the opportunity to work with and support an additional site as HR Manager.

I have helped contribute to the company’s strategic plan moving forward, whilst also receiving in-house training to help further develop my knowledge and enhance my understanding of the business. Employee suggestions are always welcomed regarding new ideas of how to further improve the employee journey.

I am really looking forward to being a key player in delivering these ideas moving forward and so glad I made the jump into manufacturing!
